ECLIPSE TD Master Class
Featuring Randy Brecker at the Royal Academy of Music

Randy Brecker gave the first ECLIPSE TD master class to Academy students, musicians, jazz journal editors, press and others in the packed recital hall at the ECLIPSE TD Master Class at the Royal Academy of Music on 5 May 2002.

Randy has been shaping the sound of jazz, R&B and rock for more than two decades. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Chaka Khan, George Benson and Parliament Funkadelics to David Sanborn, Horace Silver, Jaco Pastorius and Frank Zappa.

Using pre-recorded backing tracks as his 'backing band' through the ECLIPSE TD audio system, the class provided the audience with an opportunity to learn from Randy his theory and 'hands on' techniques of improvisation, presentation and performance as well as to engage Randy in a Q&A session.
